Slender Toothwort blooms in mid-spring with pale pink flowers. It usually has only two sets of leaves coming off its stem, only slightly cut leaflets, and which may have larger, ovoid basal leaves at flowering time.

Compare with Cut-leaf Toothwort (Cardamine concatenata) with its more whitish flowers and three sets of leaves coming off its stem.
