Ox-eye Daisy is a non-native common chrysanthemum seen almost anywhere in the mid-Atlantic area. It is native to Europe and temperate regions of Asia.

The genus name is from ancient Greek leukos, meaning 'white', and anthemon, meaning 'flower'.
